"Atkins" Type Diets
The diet with the most press in recent years is the Atkins diet or low carbohydrate diet. This diet is based on the theory that if you drastically reduce the amount of carbohydrates that you eat, then you will not introduce sugar in the blood stream and therefore you will not produce insulin to counteract the sugar. Insulin causes your body to store fat. If there is no insulin in your blood, then the fat will not be stored.
