Calorie Burn Rates
Naturally the number of calories that you burn during a particular kind of exercise depends on your sex, body weight, your condition and the intensity of the exercise that you are doing. In general, however, you can draw some conclusions from the charts below. Don't forget that some activities might burn a lot of calories, but you don't usually do them for hours on end. For example, rowing will burn more calories, but you usually do it for around half an hour. Walking on the other hand can be done for a couple of hours. A game like tennis can be a moderate activity when you spend a lot of time walking to pick up balls, but at competition level of singles it will consume many more calories.
