Should We Use Diet Supplements?


Many dieters try to lose weight by taking diet supplements. The supplements usually claim to do one of the following to assist in weight loss: suppress the appetite, allowing fat to pass through the system unabsorbed, or raise metabolism. Many are reported to have serious and sometimes dangerous side-affects. Appetite suppressants are not a substitute for learning good eating habits and stimulants that raise metabolism can be harmful for those with raised blood pressure or heart problems. Those affecting fat absorption that are prescribed by a doctor may be safe if taken under the control of the doctor as they sometimes have serious side affects.
