Twisted Orange - The High Fibre Diet

High Fibre Diets

The most common example of a high fibre diet is the F-plan diet which was extremely popular throughout the eighties. The F-plan diet calls for high fibre intake which is usually high in complex carbohydrates (not carbs like white bread). The theory is that complex fibre is slow to be digested, keeps you feeling full and much of the fibre can't be digested anyway. The diet is promoted for being healthy for the digestive system and colon, but for some people, it puts too much load on their digestive system leading to bloating and diarrhea.
