Some Factors in Dieting Success
In general, the reason a diet is successful is more to do with the dieter having a change of mind set about eating and how they feel about themselves than which plan they have followed. Learning not to turn to food to ease other emotional problems is key to successful dieting.
Common Factors For Successful Dieters
- Keep a food diary. Writing down exactly what you eat makes you unable to 'think' it away. Even if you have gone off the rails, write it down.
- Drink water. Try to drink at least 8 glasses a day. If you don't drink that much now, build up to it gradually over a week or more. Have a plan as to when you're going to drink it (a glass of hot water with a slice of lemon upon awakening, a glass before leaving for work, a glass before mid-morning coffee, etc.)
- Eat breakfast. It will kick start your metabolism and help you control your appetite all day long.
