Diet - The Yo-Yo Effect
Many dieters will have already tried something before, with or without success, and it is a question of trying again. Many women throughout their lives will have taken off pounds and put them back on again, often more than once. This so called 'yo-yo' dieting is unhealthy and usually, it becomes more difficult to lose weight as you get older. Another problem affecting many women is that they have over the years continually dieted and they are literally living on around 1200-1500 calories a day. To reduce this further is difficult and possibly dangerous. For this situation, it might be healthier to try changing eating patterns, like having more frequent, but smaller meals, and to increase activity and take up strength training to raise metabolism.
